My name is Quentin Herzig and I am working on engineering aspects of the C2 photosynthesis pathway into Arabidopsis. My background is primarily in molecular biology, specifically construct design, with experience in software development.
My current work currently falls into three main categories:
- Engineering changes in spatial expression of enzymes in Arabidopsis that are believed to facilitate C2 photosynthesis.
- Engineering changes in cellular anatomy in Arabidopsis to more closely ressemble a C2 photosynthesizing plant.
- Developing general molecular tools for gene editing and genetic modification research using Nicotiana benthiama and Arabidopsis as models.
