In the heart of our bustling world, where every passing moment seems to demand our attention, it’s all too easy for the whispers of the elderly to fade into silence. Yet, within the gentle cadence of their aging voices lies untold stories waiting to be cherished. “The Quiet Years” breathes life into these forgotten narratives, weaving a poignant tapestry of love.

In this documentary, we journey alongside our grandmothers, Ama and Nan through the lens of our cameras, confronting the inevitable passage of time, grappling with the bittersweet reality of our grandmother’s aging and decline. It is only when we take the time to sit down with them do we see their age, their wrinkles and their old hands. Or maybe it is only when we realise that we do not have the luxury of time to sit down with our elderly do we realise that we are losing or have lost our loved ones.
