First Steps – A visual depiction of the moments before you take a leap of faith. That time spent watching others succeed at what you’re about to try and praying you will soar like they have.

Artist Statement

This piece is a visual depiction of the moment before someone takes their first steps towards a goal they want to achieve after seeing others succeed. I chose to depict a young parrots moments before it takes the leap of faith and fly for the first time, so this piece both literally and metaphorically links to theme of flight.
