My recent work has involved taking photographs of people under water. Sea levels are rising as consequence of global warming. The destruction we are causing to the natural world is putting our people at risk of deadly flooding. This is reflected in the strained facial expressions in the paintings. My work is, therefore, a reminder of the interconnected relationship between humanity and the planet.
Hello, my name is Ailsa and I am a British artist, who specialises in oil painting and portraiture. I am particularly interested in how visual mediums produce meaning. This lead me to a Fine Art and Film Studies degree, which I am currently undertaking.
