“Bale and Breeze” embodies the theme “When we nurture, we grow,” by exploring the symbiotic relationship between humanity and the natural world. This video installation reflects my dedication to ecological consciousness and environmental justice, using the medium of moving images to evoke a deep sense of connection and responsibility toward our planet and Mother Earth.
The work is a 2 channel video installation visual and auditory loop that intricately weaves together elements of nature with human experience. Through a series of evocative images and soundscapes, “Bale and Breeze” highlights the nurturing spirit of Mother Earth and the energy she continually bestows upon us. The piece serves as a reminder of our collective dependence on this energy and the imperative to engage with it mindfully and respectfully.
Drawing inspiration from my mother land Azerbaijan, Iran , my background in documentary, animation, and experimental screen production allowed me to create a multidisciplinary narrative that speaks to the interconnectedness of all life forms. The installation invites viewers to reflect on their role within this vast ecosystem and to consider how our actions impact the environment.
At the core of “Bale and Breeze” is a call to action—an invitation to join in the collective effort to nurture our planet. By fostering an awareness of environmental justice and advocating for sustainable practices, we can cultivate a healthier, more harmonious world. This work aims to illuminate the path towards ecological stewardship and to inspire a sense of wonder and reverence for the natural world.
In embracing this theme, I hope to contribute to the broader narrative of Eco-visions, encouraging others to explore and express their own connections to the environment. Together, through our creative endeavors, we can shape a future that honors and sustains the delicate balance of life on Earth.
Holding a practice-led PhD in Cinematic Arts from Ulster University, I have consistently drawn inspiration from social and environmental issues to create multidisciplinary screen productions.
