The Animals in Translation Project team looks forward to welcoming you to the conference, Natures in Translation: AI, Ethics and Environmental Conservation, on 1–2 October at Lancaster University Management School (LUMS).

Below are all the details you need to travel to us, and additional information for the event.

Location

The venue is Lancaster University Management School, Lancaster University, LA1 4YX. It is approximately 8–10 minutes by taxi or 25 minutes by bus from Lancaster Railway Station.
To locate the Management School building, use the campus MazeMap. If you are familiar with the campus, you can enter the building from the Spine entrance or the Perimeter Road.

Travel options to Lancaster University

Lancaster has regular rail services to destinations across the UK. Further information about travelling by train, bus or taxi is available here.

  • Taxi: A taxi rank is located at the Platform 3 exit of Lancaster Railway Station.
  • Bus: The 4 and 4X bus services operate every 30 minutes between the railway station and campus.
  • Car: If you are coming by car please see the information on car parking. Please note that the University uses an automatic number plate recognition (ANPR) system.

Health and safety, accessibility and dietary information

  • The event will take place in LUMS. The room is on the ground floor, is wheelchair accessible and has an induction loop.
  • If the fire alarm sounds, please leave the building and assemble in the paved area outside the main entrance to LUMS.
  • There are three accessible parking bays at the top of Gillow Avenue, next to the Management School West Pavilion.
  • To help safeguard everyone’s health, please do not attend if you test positive for COVID-19 before the event or feel unwell. Please also let the team know.
  • All food served during the event will be vegan. Any additional dietary requirements provided to us will be passed on to the caterers.

Photography

Photographs may be taken during the event for promotional purposes and may be used on Lancaster University websites, social media and printed materials. Please speak to a member of the event team if you have any questions or concerns.

Code of conduct

  • Please be considerate and courteous towards staff and other guests.
  • If you are no longer able to attend, please cancel your booking.
  • In order to comply with data protection regulations and the need to request permissions from participants, the use of recording devices or AI virtual assistants is not allowed.
