Travel and local details

The conference will be at the George Fox building, on Lancaster University’s campus.

The campus is 3 miles (that’s 5 kilometres in euros) from Lancaster city centre. The university’s travel page provides detailed instructions on how to get here by car, rail, bus, air, and bicycle.

TRAVEL UPDATE:

Please note there are hourly direct trains between Manchester airport (the most convenient airport for Lancaster) and Lancaster. However, these don’t run very late at night, or start very early in the morning.  You can check times here: www.nationalrail.co.uk

Please note that on Sunday 10th September there are scheduled works on the line, meaning that trains are disrupted.

For those arriving late, or leaving early, you might consider getting a taxi (prebooked costs around £80), on this page are a few companies.

For those that want to arrange shared rides, you could use this page (please note we’ve set up this page, but take no responsibility for this page): amlap_shared_rides_googledoc

Campus accommodation:

If you prefer staying in Lancaster (town), please see the links below, which might be helpful. We recommend booking early because there are only a few hotel options.
