Oliver Bates is a Research Associate at Energy Lancaster and the School of Computing and Communications at Lancaster University, UK. His current work is trying to combine campus wide energy, building and environmental data streams in a centralised data hub “Energy Information System” (EIS) to enable better institutional decision making, teach and research in and around buildings, energy, environment and sustainability. He recently completed his PhD, where he studied the role of digital technology in everyday life, observing the relationships between complex social contexts, interconnected digital technologies and environmental impacts.  More info: http://oliverbates.co.uk

Samuel Mann is a Professor in the Department of Enterprise and Development, Otago Polytechnic, NZ.”A geographer working in computing, Professor Samuel Mann has taught and researched at Otago Polytechnic since 1997, including five years as Head of Department. Steve Easterbrook is a Professor in the Department of Computer Science at The University of Toronto, CA. His research focuses on climate informatics, and more specifically, the applications of computer science and software engineering to the challenge posed by global climate change. Steve has recently completed a series of case studies of the software development processes used by computational scientists for development of Earth System Models. Adrian Clear is a Senior Research Associate at Open Lab (formerly Culture Lab) in Newcastle University, UK. His current research work is focused on environmentalism and comfort in the workplace. He is also interested in sustainability in domestic environments, qualitative and quantitative methods, sensor data analysis, infovis, and designing digital technologies for for reshaping everyday practices in more sustainable ways.
