Information for people who have attended an outdoor group activity programme

Banner image of trees, water, a bird and a cow with the text: Do you have experience of taking part in an outdoor group activity programme?

I think hearing about your experiences will be very helpful in understanding how long any benefits last and the reasons why they remain or not. I am interested in understanding: What were your experiences of the programme? Why did you attend? What has been the impact of attending on your life? What has helped you keep positive changes? What difficulties has there been in keeping positive changes?

I would really like to hear from you if you attended:

  • during the ages of 16-29,
  • at least 5 years ago or if still attending started at least 5 years ago,
  • an adventure, environmental conservation, exercise, farming, or gardening programme.

Taking part will involve sharing your experiences of the outdoor group activities and the impact of attending on your life through creative activities and interviews.

Taking part in this study provides you with the opportunity to share your experiences of attending outdoor group activity programmes and how this has impacted on your life. By sharing your experiences, you will contribute to our understanding of which aspects of these activity programmes help people, how long benefits last for and if and how they become part of a person’s life. At the end of the project a summary of the results will be available to participants and you are welcome to receive a copy.
