“By this point in medical school, instead of seeing these challenges as problems you see them as opportunities to continue growing”

” I don’t want to get too emotional thinking about it being our last this and our last that. I love Lancaster and have had, am having, the best time at medical school here. Now all I have to do is fill in those blank pages of the portfolio and (fingers crossed) manage to get a job somewhere. If only it was that simple! Wish us all luck!”

“Being a 5th year medical student is great, it has to be the best year. Once you’ve passed your finals you’ve proven that you’re capable of becoming a doctor, now you have to demonstrate that you’re competent. The time I spend on my placements allow me to get really involved and integrated with the clinical teams and maximizing patient experience. I’m having such an enjoyable time and I have no doubt that I’ll leave this year having had the best opportunity to prepare myself to become an FY1.”

“I’m a fifth and final year medical student at Lancaster Medical School. It feels very strange to say that, but also very exciting that what we came to medical school for is very nearly reality! I hope you enjoy all of our blogs and see what it is like to study here. I’ve had a great time so far, and hope to make the most of my short time left as a student.”
