Twitter can be used to receive instant AuroraWatch UK alerts. In the following we describe the steps to get the Twitter alerts set-up on your phone.
Step 1: If you don’t have one already, create a Twitter account.
Step 2: Download the Twitter app to your smartphone and log in to your account.

- iOS (iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch)
- Twitter is available on other devices (including Windows Phone and Blackberry) but push notification support is “sketchy”.
Step 3: Visit the AuroraWatch UK Twitter page or search for AuroraWatch UK in your app. We’re the verified account with the tick mark next to it.
Step 4: Follow the AuroraWatch UK account.
Step 5a: If setting up notifications via the web, click on the three vertical dots and then click to Turn on mobile notifications

Some mobile networks will also support receiving Twitter notifications as SMS text messages. You will need to link your mobile number to your Twitter account. More information here.
