Many healthcare professionals feel this too.<\/span><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"423\" data-end=\"624\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\">A recent review of NHS adult gender clinics in England, led by Dr David Levy, said more research is needed. The review asked for a clear plan so gender services can be based on good, reliable evidence.<\/span><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"423\" data-end=\"624\"><div class=\"su-quote su-quote-style-default su-quote-has-cite\"><div class=\"su-quote-inner su-u-clearfix su-u-trim\">We are pleased to see a model of research that values lived experience and professional knowledge as complementary rather than separate. This kind of collaboration recognises the expertise that exists within trans communities and strengthens the evidence base for better healthcare.<span class=\"su-quote-cite\">Dr Jay Stewart, Gendered Intelligence<\/span><\/div><\/div>\n<div>\n<div class=\"su-quote su-quote-style-default su-quote-has-cite\"><div class=\"su-quote-inner su-u-clearfix su-u-trim\">It is vital that we listen carefully to how services are experienced and delivered in practice when setting research priorities.
