The conference will take place at the historic venue of Lancaster Castle (5 minutes from Lancaster train station — Castle Hill, Lancaster, LA1 1YN, UK) on 17th-18th September 2026.
The conference is hosted by Lancaster University Law School’s new Human Rights and Global Vulnerabilities research cluster and is kindly funded in part by the Society of Legal Scholars (SLS).
The conference is organised by Jeremy Letwin (Lancaster) and James Summers (Lancaster). The steering group consists of Corina Heri (VUB), Stefan Theil (Cambridge) and Azadeh Chalabi (Liverpool). The PGR Roundtable is organised by Camilo Cornejo (Lancaster) and Katie Neaves (Lancaster).
The conference will feature a keynote from Jessica Simor KC, a leading environmental and human rights barrister (and lead counsel for the applicants in KlimaSeniorinnen).
