His dual British-German identity provides the context for his engagement with questions concerning the inheritance of memory and the relationship of memory to forgetting. <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p class=\"1\"><span lang=\"EN-US\" style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p class=\"1\"><span lang=\"EN-US\" style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times\">He took part in his first exhibition at the Melkweg, Amsterdam in 1975 while a student at Sheffield School of Art, and since then has exhibited widely in Europe and the UK, with a particular focus on Central and Eastern Europe. From 2008 to 2016 he kept a studio in Berlin.
