It is a co-production between <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lancaster.ac.uk\/\">Lancaster University<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/kinship.org.uk\/\">Kinship<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/corambaaf.org.uk\/\">CoramBAAF<\/a> during 2020-21.<\/p>\n<p>As part of this work, two films have been produced to better understand the experiences of special guardians themselves and the views of those who work in the sector.<\/p>\n<p>The first film <strong>\u2018The First Day of Forever\u2019<\/strong> presents the views and personal experiences of 5 special guardians.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"The First Day of Forever \u2013 Becoming a Special Guardian\" width=\"584\" height=\"329\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/pNO1sZb5mjc?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>The second film <strong>&#8216;Special Guardianship &#8211; An Agenda for Change&#8217;\u00a0<\/strong>includes the views of a range of professionals and sector leaders.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Special Guardianship - An Agenda for Change\" width=\"584\" height=\"329\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/euISHK0fbIs?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>This agenda is our joint responsibility to ensure that every child who enters the care system has access to a system that is focused on their safety, needs, welfare and development.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to the films, further resources have been produced that outline the legislative, policy and practice framework in England.
