On the 3rd February 2020, the RSA held a Concordat event for researchers, their managers, and interested institutional colleagues. The event focussed on the three principles of the 2019 Concordat to Support the Career Development of Researchers: environment and culture, employment, and professional and career development.
Attendees first heard from Prof Malcom Joyce (Dean for Research) about the Concordat and the University’s commitment to it. This was followed by round table discussions on each of the three principles, facilitated by the RSA Executive Committee.
The notes taken by the RSA Exec members during the event are available here. We will also be reporting these to the University’s Concordat Implimentation Group for further discussion and implimentation of any recommendations.
Based on the feedback we received at the event, we have decided to create a series of FAQs. These will cover a range of topics that matter to researchers such as redundancy, promotion, and parental leave. Our first FAQ on redundancy is now live!
