This includes examining the historical and research background to recent developments in school buildings, and investigating the participation of users (including students, teachers, non-teaching staff and the wider community) in the design process. I have become increasingly interested in how visual techniques, including photo elicitation and mapping activities, can facilitate such participation.<\/span>\r\n<h4><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\">Dr Meng Tian<\/span><\/h4>\r\n<span style=\"font-size: 12pt\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.birmingham.ac.uk\/staff\/profiles\/education\/tian-meng\">Associate Professor in Educational Leadership<\/a>, <\/span><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\">Director of Global Engagement for the College of Social Science, <\/span><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\">School of Education, University of Birmingham\u00a0<\/span><\/span>\r\n\r\n<span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size: 12pt\">Meng Tian joined the Educational Leadership Academy, Department of Teacher Education in 2021. Her teaching and research interests lie in distributed leadership, social justice leadership, leaders\u2019 and teachers\u2019 professional development, and educational leadership policy-making. Currently, she teaches in the MA Educational Leadership DA Programme and MA Education Programme (Leadership pathway). Her latest research, on Cultivating Global Citizenship, aims to transform research-based global citizenship teacher CPD training into tangible teacher competencies while nurturing a heightened sense of global responsibility among youth.<\/span>\r\n<h3 data-adtags-visited=\"true\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\"><strong>Call for proposals<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\r\n<span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size: 12pt\">The proposal must be a abstract less than 500 words \u2013 excluding references \u2013 outlining the main focus of your presentation.
