Dr Gavin Brookes<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gavin is a UKRI Future Leader Fellow in the Department of Linguistics and English Language at Lancaster University (UK). His research uses corpus linguistic, critical and multimodal approaches to discourse analysis in order to examine how language and image are used to represent health and illness. He is Associate Editor of the International Journal of Corpus Linguistics<\/a> and Co-Editor of the Bloomsbury Corpus and Discourse book series<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Dr Emma Putland<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Emma is a Senior Research Associate in the Department of Linguistics and English Language at Lancaster University (UK). Her research interests are health communication, dementia, ageing, multimodality and mixed methods approaches. Emma’s doctoral research used focus groups and interviews to explore how people affected by dementia situate themselves in relation to different dementia discourses, both in conversation and when responding to visual and linguistic examples of dementia representations. She is the Convenor for the British Association of Applied Linguists’ (BAAL)\u00a0Health & Science Communication Special Interest Group<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Chris Sanderson<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chris is a doctoral student in the Department of Linguistics and English Language at Lancaster University (UK). He has already had some experience working as part of a research team as he has made various contributions to the Questioning Vaccine Discourse (Quo Vadis) project in CASS. His research interests are in corpus research methods, health discourse, critical discourse analysis, argumentation, metaphor and disinformation. Chris\u2019 research currently aims to bring an analysis of how dementia is spoken about on social media, and investigate the ways in which these representations spread.  <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
