There is a range support on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lancaster.ac.uk\/staff-wellbeing\/\">University Wellbeing pages<\/a> and talking to line managers and colleagues can help.<\/p>\n<p>We have all been affected one way or another by the pandemic and nothing is \u201cnormal\u201d anymore so take a few minutes to look after yourself and your team.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Shonah Ion<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Chester the Cat who Co-Authored a Physics Paper<\/strong> &#8211; Follow Up<\/h2>\n<p>The cat that wrote a paper has a Lancaster connection.\u00a0 The cat\u2019s \u201cowner\u201d was Jack Hetherington, a quantum fluids theorist from Michigan State University whom we know well as MSU had close connections with the ULT group in the eighties.<\/p>\n<p>Jack had written a theory paper on exchange in solid 3He which he sent to PRL.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The editors took exception to Jack\u2019s using \u201cI\u201d and \u201cme\u201d in the text instead of the editorial \u201cwe\u201d.\u00a0 As the lone writer, to change to \u201cwe\u201d, he thought stupid and to keep things consistent he just added Willard as an author to justify the \u201cwe\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>It later occurred to him that Willard now had a publication record.\u00a0 So, when Jack wanted to publish a slightly dodgy bit of theory he presented it to the world with Willard\u2019s name alone just to be on the safe side.<\/p>\n<p>I am pretty sure Jack has visited Lancaster so we can claim a bit of the story.<\/p>\n<p>References:<\/p>\n<ol start=\"1\" type=\"1\">\n<li>2-Atom, 3-Atom, And 4-Atom Exchange Effects In Bcc He-3,<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>JH Hetherington,\u00a0 FDC Willard, Phys.
