Coronavirus fatigue<\/strong><\/h2>\n

As we all continue to deal with the changing levels of restriction concerning the coronavirus and the exam season beginning, it is a good time to remind everyone to take a moment to check the wellbeing of their staff and themselves. There is a range support on the University Wellbeing pages<\/a> and talking to line managers and colleagues can help.<\/p>\n

We have all been affected one way or another by the pandemic and nothing is \u201cnormal\u201d anymore so take a few minutes to look after yourself and your team.<\/p>\n

Disposal of Hazardous waste<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Can all supervisor please remember to ensure all hazardous waste from finished projects goes to stores properly labelled and contained before<\/u><\/strong> the person using the materials finally leaves. We do seem to get regular amounts of waste that no one knows about appearing at stores which Stephen Holden then has to deal with. There is a waste disposal form in the Departmental Safety files on the department SharePoint site.<\/p>\n

Under Support staff \u2013 stores \u2013 PHYSICS HAZARDOUS WASTE FORM, editable. Download that form and complete it and email to Stephen Holden in stores before you take the waste to stores. We will not accept waste unless it is properly contained, labelled with name and hazards and with a charge code for it\u2019s disposal.<\/p>\n
