{"id":403,"date":"2020-01-24T16:28:43","date_gmt":"2020-01-24T16:28:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/wp.lancs.ac.uk\/physics-bulletin\/?p=403"},"modified":"2020-01-24T16:28:43","modified_gmt":"2020-01-24T16:28:43","slug":"physics-friday-bulletin-2020-01-24","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wp.lancs.ac.uk\/physics-bulletin\/2020\/01\/24\/physics-friday-bulletin-2020-01-24\/","title":{"rendered":"Physics Friday Bulletin 2020-01-24"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><strong> Risk assessment forms<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>A reminder to all those who produce risk assessments that we need to use the current document template from the University Safety Office.<br \/>\nFrom the staff intranet A to Z listing \u2013 Health and safety \u2013 Risk Assessment \u2013 scroll down to <strong>\u20185 step\u2019 risk assessment form<\/strong>.<br \/>\nIf everyone has the same form, although the quality of each risk assessment is variable, the University can have assurance that the same questions are being asked (and hopefully addressed) across the institution.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Shonah Ion<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><strong> Facilities work<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>We have been informed of the following work.<br \/>\nEmergency Lighting Testing in Physics Building will take place week commencing 27th January 2020 \u00a0from 9am daily.<br \/>\nEvery month there is a quick test to ensure all Emergency Lighting fittings are operational.\u00a0 This involves a quick visual test.\u00a0 In residences, this applies to corridors and kitchens.\u00a0 There are longer, more involved tests at 6 month and 12 month intervals.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Shonah Ion<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><strong> Safety Induction<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The next scheduled safety Induction will take place on Thursday 6th February in B24 Physics at 2pm.
