We are delighted that HR and senior management have confirmed their support for this stoppage of work for half an hour.<\/p>\n<p>We\u2019d love to create the exciting visual of a Human Globe with everyone who pops down:<\/p>\n<p>We\u2019d also encourage you to set up an \u2018out of office\u2019 message that day (even if you only join us for half an hour) and mention the climate strike to raise awareness.\u00a0 (e.g. I will be out of the office today to support the Global Climate Strike <a href=\"https:\/\/eur02.safelinks.protection.outlook.com\/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fglobalclimatestrike.net%2F&amp;data=02%7C01%7Cr.lewsey%40lancaster.ac.uk%7Ca51e362133294dc15eb308d737900964%7C9c9bcd11977a4e9ca9a0bc734090164a%7C1%7C0%7C637038964080044100&amp;sdata=GJ21wBQBHIT2C%2BfTIcCYvD4iyfKLlx95uPbCVbxB7DA%3D&amp;reserved=0\">https:\/\/globalclimatestrike.net\/<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>We hope to have a drone filming on the day, a couple of speeches and the opportunity to help us create a video about the University\u2019s responsibilities and plans towards becoming carbon neutral, and what climate action looks like to you.<\/p>\n<p>b)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 If you\u2019d like to support the climate strikers by taking more time off, <em>Lancaster Youth For Environment<\/em> (LYFE) are hosting an event in town from 11-2pm in solidarity with those all over the world striking on the day. The contractors were to have a compound in the underpass. But this deemed to be unsafe, and was relocated to Physics AV with no notice.
