Morecambe Bay Food Bank<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Calling all staff and students! We are collecting non-perishable food donations for Morecambe Bay Foodbank in Week 19! Last term we managed to collect 800 items for vulnerable members of our community and we want to beat our record this term!<\/p>\n

We will be calling at
\n– Londsdale and Cartmel on March 11th
\n– Fylde and Furness on March 12th
\n– Grizedale and Pendle on March 13th
\n– County and Bowland on March 14th
\n– Departments on March 15th<\/p>\n

Data Science in Physics: a\u00a0New Group Within Physics.<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Para: A new data science group has been set up within the physics department by post graduate\u00a0students.\u00a0The group\u00a0has been established as a cross discipline platform to\u00a0discuss and present on the subjects of Data Science, including\u00a0machine learning,\u00a0neural networks and deep learning as some examples.\u00a0\u00a0We are opening the group to everyone\u00a0working in or with an interest in\u00a0data science techniques.\u00a0We meet once a month on a\u00a0Wednesday at 14:00 p.m. The next meeting will be on Feb 27th. If you would like to join the group mailing list\u00a0please contact Wayne Gould at\u00a0w.gould@lancaster.ac.uk<\/a>. Feel free to include any questions you may have.<\/p>\n
