{"id":143,"date":"2017-07-21T18:04:53","date_gmt":"2017-07-21T18:04:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/wp.lancs.ac.uk\/physics-bulletin\/?p=143"},"modified":"2017-07-21T18:04:53","modified_gmt":"2017-07-21T18:04:53","slug":"physics-friday-bulletin-2017-07-21","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wp.lancs.ac.uk\/physics-bulletin\/2017\/07\/21\/physics-friday-bulletin-2017-07-21\/","title":{"rendered":"Physics Friday Bulletin 2017-07-21"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Waste Electronic Collection<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>If you&#8217;ve got any old electrical equipment you&#8217;d like disposin of them can you come and see me in C32.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Rob Lewsey<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Facilities works in Physics<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>We have been informed by Facilities of the following works.<\/p>\n<p>Emergency Lighting Testing in Physics Building will take place week commencing 24th July 2017 from 9am daily.<br \/>\nEvery month there is a quick test to ensure all Emergency Lighting fittings are operational.\u00a0 This involves a quick visual test.\u00a0 In residences, this applies to corridors and kitchens.\u00a0 There are longer, more involved tests at 6 month and 12 month intervals.\u00a0 I will notify you should any of these be occurring.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Shonah Ion<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Physics Away Day &#8211; Thursday 5th October 2017<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The next Physics Away Day will take place on Thursday 5th October at Green Lane Conference Centre, (Lancaster House Hotel). An agenda is not yet available.<br \/>\nAttendance is mandatory for academic staff and all other staff are welcome to attend if they wish. Please confirm your attendance to me with any dietary requirements by Weds 27 September at the latest.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Grainne Wilkinson<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Performance Development Reviews for 2016\/2017<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The 2016\/17 Performance Development Review (PDR) cycle is drawing to a close. All Lancaster University staff employed for more than 12 months continuously, including those on fixed-term contracts, are expected to take part in the PDR process. Staff who are on probation do not need to have a PDR but new starters in support areas should have objectives set using an \u2018Initial PDR form (for new starters)\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>For full information on PDR policy, guidance and PDR forms please visit <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lancaster.ac.uk\/hr\/pdr\/\">http:\/\/www.lancaster.ac.uk\/hr\/pdr\/<\/a> The PDR forms were updated quite recently so please ensure you use the current version from the webpage.
