There is a 4 drawer filling cabinet which is surplus to requirements in the atrium. If you can use it here in the Department then please take it away. Let me know if you need a hand with moving it.

Electrical testing

We have been informed by Facilities that Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) in Physics will begin on the 15th August. The electronics workshop will be co -ordinating this for Physics . If you have any queries or concerns about equipment being tested please get in touch with Lucy Wilson from the electronics workshop.

ULT corridor closure

The work that was postponed in the service ducts below the building is now scheduled to begin on the 15th August and run until the 5th September. This will require the closure of the corridor adjacent to the Ultra Low Temperature (ULT) labs, with controlled periods for the transiting of contractors and materials. We will try to minimise disruption but some should be expected.

Security during school holidays

During the school holidays there is often an increase in the reports of vandalism, break ins, thefts and anti-social behaviour on campus.
Please be conscious of this and remember to lock up labs and offices when unattended and take care of your valuables.
If you have any concerns about anyone or behaviours you see on campus and don’t want to challenge this yourself, please report it to the Security team on 01524 594541
