Elsevier Micro Grants
Our partner Elsevier is launching a “micro grants” scheme to support research and science at Lancaster. They will fund up to £500 for any sort of event which involves more the 25 researchers (staff/students). Elsevier want to do a short presentation at the start of your event but otherwise you are free to run anything you want. See more details here: https://www.elsevier.com/promo/communitygrants

Portable Appliance Testing
Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) will be commencing in the Physics Building and IsoLab from Monday 9th September. This year all IT equipment is due for testing as they are on a three-year cycle.
The PAT tester will be calling on you soon in both offices and laboratories.
Please can you help the tester by making all electrical equipment accessible i.e. remove items from drawers, cupboards, filing cabinets etc. Please power down office computers and associated equipment at the end of the working day. You will be contacted nearer the time by Ashley Wilson who will let you know when PAT testing will be in your area.
Your cooperation will help make this operation run smoothly.

Performance Development Reviews for 18/19
A reminder that PDR season is upon us and that meetings and paperwork needs to be completed by the end of September. I’d be grateful if reviewers could ensure that meetings are in place if they are not already.
You will recall that we’re moving to an on-line PDR system. You can access your PDR form via the HR portal, (https://my.corehr.com/pls/coreportal_lancp/corePortal/#EmpDash). If you experience any technical issues pls contact hr.mi@lancaster.ac.uk
This webpage should cover any other queries you might have and has a section on FAQs.
