A reminder that the University Open Days are almost upon us and it is essential we have your support on these busy and important days.

Window cleaning

Facilities have informed us that the Physics building windows (inside & out) will be cleaned on or around the 17th June. If possible please can you clear window sills and keep windows shut during cleaning to prevent water ingress.

Next Physics Away Day – September 2019

The next Physics Away Day will take place on Thursday 26th September 2019 in Green Lane Conference Centre.

Attendance is mandatory for academic staff. All other staff are welcome to attend if they wish but please let me know if you are intending to go and let me have any dietary requirements by COP Friday 13th September.

Saturday 1st June – Friday 7th June
As well as helping others, volunteering has proven to improve volunteers’ wellbeing too – It’s human nature to feel good after helping someone out. Be involved: Growing for Wellbeing Week

Monday 3rd June – Sunday 9th June
National Growing for Wellbeing Week is a celebration of the benefits that growing your own produce can bring for your wellbeing, both physically and mentally. Gardening improves mental health, enables better physical health, provides an opportunity to connect with others, acquire new skills and enjoy the great outdoors. Find out more here.

Be giving: Have your say – Join one of the new University staff workgroups

Volunteers are needed for five new workgroups set up by HR to investigate issues highlighted in the staff survey, including:

• Excessive procedures
• Work-life balance
• Improving levels of understanding of accident reporting, Employee Assistance Programme, Occupational Health and flexible working policies
• Lecturer Grade 7 or 8/Senior Lecturer or Reader Grade 9
• Celebrating success

No matter what your role is at Lancaster, if you are willing to spend some time helping make things better for the University, HR want to hear from you. Find out more here
