Farewell to Robin Long
As many of you know after more than 14 years at Lancaster I am leaving to take up a new position at the University of Manchester on the 7th May. It has been many enjoyable years at Lancaster and it has been great to watch the Department grow from strength to strength. I will be sad to leave, but excited for new challenges. I would be grateful to see any of you that can make it for drinks (and food if you wish) tonight from 5.30 at the Boot and Shoe, Lancaster. Thanks.
Robin Long
Physics Away Day
I’ve been asked by the venue for feedback on the last Away Day. If you have any comments on what they did well and what they could have done better please let me know.
Hope you have a great BH weekend!

Vegan Bake Sale
My name is Kris and I’m a second-year Physics, Astrophysics and Cosmology student. I am hosting a Vegan Bake Sale and if you are on campus on Monday I would love for you to come and support me, the cake is gorgeous and has been thoroughly tested, you won’t be disappointed!
I am working on a project with Volunteer Eco Students Abroad (VESA) and am set to travel with them to Fiji, July 15th – August 1st 2019. To find out more about this and why I need to raise money and promise to dye my hair silver if I reach target follow the link below.

YORK WORKSHOP 1-5 July 2019: “Mathematics of interacting QFT models”
The workshop will be hosted at King’s Manor, which is a lovely historical building right in the city centre.
Rigorous construction of interacting quantum field theory (QFT) models in 4 spacetime dimensions is one of the
biggest challenges of mathematical physics. The aim of this workshop is to bring together experts working on
different aspects of interacting QFT to present recent results and discuss perspectives for future directions.
The main discussion topics will be:
– Axiomatic systems for QFT: progress in constructing interacting models.
– Renormalization: analytic and combinatorial aspects.
– Infrared problem: progress and perspectives.
If you are interested in participation, please contact the organizer: Dr. Kasia Rejzner (kr763@york.ac.uk).
There will be a limited number of contributed talk slots, so if you would like to propose a talk, please send
the title and the abstract to the organizer as soon as possible and before the 1st May 2019.
More information (including the list of speakers) is available at the conference website:
