Data Science in Physics: a New Group Within Physics.
Para: A new data science group has been set up within the physics department by post graduate students. The group has been established as a cross discipline platform to discuss and present on the subjects of Data Science, including machine learning, neural networks and deep learning as some examples. We are opening the group to everyone working in or with an interest in data science techniques. We meet once a month on a Wednesday at 14:00 p.m. The next meeting will be on Feb 27th. If you would like to join the group mailing list please contact Wayne Gould at w.gould@lancaster.ac.uk. Feel free to include any questions you may have.
