Performance Development Reviews for 2017/2018

The 2017/18 Performance Development Review (PDR) cycle is drawing to a close. All Lancaster University staff employed for more than 12 months continuously, including those on fixed-term contracts, are expected to take part in the PDR process. Staff who are on probation do not need to have a PDR but please read the section on probation below.

For full information on PDR policy, guidance and PDR forms please visit http://www.lancaster.ac.uk/pdr/ Research staff should use the Professional Services PDR form.

FAO New staff and their line managers – probation

Line managers should note that if they are managing a new non-academic (i.e. admin/ technical / research) member of staff then regular reviews need to take place and paperwork completed.  There are two forms to complete – an initial PDR form and a Probation Review form (the latter at four months and eight months). Please visit the “Managing the Probation Period” of this webpage http://www.lancaster.ac.uk/hr/recruitment/inductionIndex.html  and scroll down to the Non Academic Staff Probation section for guidance and the forms.

Room Bookings for Physics Building

Please could everyone ensure that they delete any room bookings that they have no longer need. Some staff are finding that they are having to book rooms in other buildings unnecessarily.

Water Hygiene and Shower head cleaning

In Faraday will take place week commencing 2nd July 2018  from 9am daily.

Two Lancaster University engineers will require access to kitchens and shared bathrooms to test hot water temperatures.  The engineers will not test every kitchen/bathroom just a sample from different locations within the building.  This brief survey will take approximately five minutes, and is to ensure that the hot water is maintained at the correct temperature to prevent any instances of legionella. There will be no shutdown of service.

Lancaster University appointed engineers will require access to bathrooms to remove shower heads for cleaning to prevent the build-up of materials and bacteria as well as to ensure their effective operation.  This will take approximately 5 minutes per shower head.
