Closure of phase II Physics

The contractors now have control of the second phase of the Physics building. We can only enter this area in the course of an emergency evacuation. Please do not use the stairs at the interface between phases. Our use of this area will delay the works.

Fire alarm testing next week

As usual, the fire alarm system and the evacuation processes for the Physics building will be tested at some time next week. Our muster point is unchanged at the pavement between the Isolab and the perimeter road. On hearing the alarm make safe what you are doing if necessary and make your way to the nearest safe exit and gather at the muster point. The main front door is the main exit route for most users of the building. The exit at the bottom of the interface stairs can be used and the route would then be along the Physics building towards Alexandra square and then to the right and come on to the spine. From the spine you need to make your way to the muster point via a safe route. The Faraday building would be the most convenient generally. Please make yourself familiar with the escape routes from any building you work in.

Obviously as the spine works develop the escape routes may be subject to change.
