Cliff Shelton and Liz Brewster from the Mapping Doctors team went to Birmingham to the 6th Developing Excellence in Medical Education Conference. Our workshop, Medical training in the ‘edgelands:’ what can we learn from experiences in underdoctored areas? provided a fantastic opportunity for discussion of our research findings with key stakeholders, and together we created a manifesto for the edgelands, thinking about how to make the best of opportunities of training in smaller places, and to mitigate and adapt to any issues faced. The manifesto will be shared on our website when finalised.
