{"id":37,"date":"2016-02-24T15:48:56","date_gmt":"2016-02-24T15:48:56","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/wp.lancs.ac.uk\/luxjournal\/?page_id=37"},"modified":"2017-06-03T09:57:35","modified_gmt":"2017-06-03T09:57:35","slug":"submission-guidelines","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/wp.lancs.ac.uk\/luxjournal\/instructions-for-authors\/submission-guidelines\/","title":{"rendered":"Submission Guidelines"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Students are welcome to submit an original piece, or a former piece of coursework.<\/p>\n<p>Students may wish to submit any of the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>An article of 3,500 \u2013 6,500 words<\/li>\n<li>A creative-critical piece (if your creative piece is too large\/ three-dimensional then photographs may be used, but must be accompanied with a critical commentary of reasonable length)<\/li>\n<li>An interview (with relevance to your area of study)<\/li>\n<li>A book review (of a critical publication, or new literary work)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>However, re-submitted coursework must match the following criteria:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Students must state which module it was originally submitted for and their tutor\u2019s name.<\/li>\n<li>Students must show that they have responded to staff feedback by including a 100-400 word statement responding to the essay feedback.<\/li>\n<li>Re-submitted coursework will also answer an argument\/ contain an original title, not use the questions written in handbooks. Essays from half-units where the student creates their own question, not pre-set essay questions will be given more weight and valued for originality.<\/li>\n<li>Masters students are welcome to submit previous undergraduate work (e.g. a chapter of their third year dissertation).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>When you are articles are submitted please attach the following <strong>as separate documents<\/strong> to your email:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u201cLUX Cover Page\u201d \u2013 downloadable here: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dropbox.com\/s\/5ebpc2je1y6xb4o\/Cover%20Page.docx?dl=0\">Cover Page<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Your abstract (300 words max.).<\/li>\n<li>Your article \u2013 <strong>this must be anonymised<\/strong> in order to perform a blind peer review.<\/li>\n<li>If adapted from a university assessment (essay; creative project; etc.) please also include a summary (100-300 words) of how you have taken on board tutor feedback.<\/li>\n<li>If you are including images\/ tables include these in the body of your essay, but please also attach images as separate jpegs entitled \u201cFigure 1, 2, 3\u2026 etc.\u201d as appropriate.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Please send your articles to <a href=\"mailto:luxjournal@hotmail.com\">luxjournal@hotmail.com<\/a>.
