Magdalena Ramada, Senior Director, EMEA InsurTech Innovation Leader, WTW<\/span><\/h1>\n

About the Speaker:<\/strong>
\n\"\"Dr. Magdalena Ramada is a Senior Director and InsurTech Innovation Leader <\/b>at Willis Towers Watson\u2019s Insurance Consulting and Technology and leads the firm\u2019s insurance-focused R&D efforts around insurtech in EMEA and blockchain technology globally. She joined the firm as a Senior Economist <\/b>at Willis Towers Watson\u2019s Research and Innovation Center in 2005<\/b>. She has 20+ years of experience in R&D and international consulting and was Willis Towers Watson\u2019s Head of Research and Analytical Services<\/b>. Magda holds a M.Sc. in math. Finance <\/b>and a PhD in Quantitative Economics and Finance. She also holds a professional certificate on Innovation from the MIT Professional Education Program.<\/b><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/b>She currently focuses on innovation and strategic consulting for the Insurance Industry, especially around digital transformation<\/b>, advanced analytics, blockchain and distributed ledger technologies, emerging risks and #insurtech<\/b>.<\/p>\n

She was among the first to publish and discuss blockchain in the context of insurance <\/b>and was focused almost exclusively on helping the insurance industry to understand and deploy blockchain and new technologies since 2014. In the past three years, Magda has had over 90 public speaking engagements specific to <\/b>insurtech<\/b> and blockchain <\/b>at various international conferences and summits, and has published multiple articles, blogs, interviews and audio\/visual media on the topic. She sees herself as a blockchain and technology governance crusader<\/b> and devotes significant time to blockchain educational activities, ranging from workshops for executives to sessions at elementary schools and trainings to empower #womenintech.<\/p>\n

Her main areas of expertise include blockchain, technology and innovation, advanced analytics, MNC internationalization and innovation strategies, emerging markets, global governance, macroeconomic and socio-political risks, econometrics and monetary economics.<\/p>\n

Further, Magdalena has 14 years of teaching experience at European (Germany, UK) and Latin American universities<\/b>. She also led many research projects for multilateral organizations<\/b> on microinsurance, financial inclusion and innovation, including pre-2009 projects on alternative currencies.<\/p>\n
