Some of the team were able to meet in person and take part in a team photo when we had our GRACE project kick-off meeting in late 2024. It happened to fall on Marie Curie’s Birthday (1867) and on the eve of World Radiography Day, which at the time had the theme ‘Radiographers: Seeing the Unseen’.
Seeing the unseen is a great way to describe the discussions we had that day. GRACE brings together Social Scientists, Therapeutic Radiographers, Clinical Psychologists, Health Economists, Operational Delivery Managers, Patients and Third Sector partners to consider how we can better support people make decisions about radiotherapy for gynaecological cancer.
Through seeing the process of gynae radiotherapy through these multiple lenses, we illuminate the unseen. We challenge each other to think about consent differently. To develop new research methodologies. To consider what might be possible and how can we make the ‘unseen’ ‘seen’ for future patients.
