The story begins on the day of the flood, as Callum and his parents watch the water rise to the point when there is no alternative but to evacuate: <i>Dad said, \u2018We need to go now. When I say now, I mean <u>now<\/u>.\u2019<\/i><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p class=\"intropara\"><span lang=\"EN-US\" style=\"font-size: 12pt\">We then follow Callum in the weeks and months after the flood, as he and his family deal with the difficult process of recovery. The story ends when Callum finally moves back home after eight months &#8211; but the place feels like a \u2018ghost town\u2019 as most of his neighbours are still unable to return. And what if it floods again\u2026?<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><strong>Help Sali<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"embed-youtube\" style=\"text-align:center; display: block;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"youtube-player\" width=\"584\" height=\"329\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/DKwHtupXS0Y?version=3&#038;rel=1&#038;showsearch=0&#038;showinfo=1&#038;iv_load_policy=1&#038;fs=1&#038;hl=en-US&#038;autohide=2&#038;wmode=transparent\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" style=\"border:0;\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts allow-same-origin allow-popups allow-presentation allow-popups-to-escape-sandbox\"><\/iframe><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\"><em>Help Sali<\/em>\u00a0is the latest of our 360 videos, which explores the different experiences of a young girl who has to move with her family after their home is flooded, first to a hotel and then into temporary accommodation.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Sali&#8217;s story highlights the difficulties faced by families that have to evacuate in an emergency and the need for greater support and awareness of the issues facing people with disabilities. Sali also shows understanding of the need to adapt and demonstrates how sharing her experience can help promote greater resilience to flood risk in the wider community.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\"><strong><em>Help Callum<\/em> and <em>Help Sali<\/em> flood education resources<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">The team has worked with teachers and students at schools in England, as well as young people from the National Children&#8217;s Bureau, to co-develop<a href=\"https:\/\/360lab.lboro.ac.uk\/project\/flood-stories\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> a set of learning and teaching resources to accompany our 360 Flood Stories videos<\/a>.
