For students in the humanities, arts and social sciences, it\u2019s an opportunity to showcase the diverse skills you have gained alongside your degree- through volunteering, society involvement, creative work, internships or part-time jobs.<\/p>\n<p>The Award helps you develop the confidence to articulate your strengths, reflect meaningfully on your experiences, and demonstrate your value to future employers. It also gives you a structured space to prepare for graduate applications, with opportunities for CV writing, interview preparation and reflection.<\/p>\n<p>More than just a certificate, the Lancaster Award is a signal to employers that you\u2019ve gone above and beyond during your degree and that you\u2019re ready to take the next step with confidence.<\/p>\n<h4><\/h4>\n<h4><strong>Why it matters:<\/strong><\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Make your activities count<\/strong>: we already know our students are doing great things with volunteering, part-time work, internships and societies. Take those experiences and channel them into your employability development!<\/li>\n<li><strong>Develop real-world skills:<\/strong> such as reflection, communication, leadership\u2014skills that graduate employers in the humanities, arts and social sciences really value.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Stand out professionally<\/strong>: The Lancaster Award will support you strengthen your applications for internships, postgraduate study, or graduate roles.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/h4>\n<h4><strong>How to Get Involved<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p><strong>Step 1 &#8211; Attend a Lancaster Award workshop: <\/strong>Come along to a Lancaster Award Introductory session &#8211; available to book via <a href=\"https:\/\/careersconnect.lancaster-university.uk\">CareersConnect<\/a>. At this session you will learn all about what you need to do to achieve the award and have the chance to ask any questions.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Step 2 \u2013 Register online: <\/strong>During the introductory session you will be shown how to register for the Award through the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/portal.lancaster.ac.uk\/portal\/my-area\">student portal<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Step 3- Getting Support with the Award:<\/strong> You are very welcome to come along to Careers with any questions you have about the Award.\u00a0 \u00a0The Careers team is here to support you throughout the whole process.\u00a0 If you have questions about activities that count towards the Award, or require support with the application stage, we are here to help! When you sign up to the Lancaster Award, you will have the option to join an LA Teams space.\u00a0 This is a great way of keeping up-to-date with everything Award related.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Step 4- Submit:<\/strong> To achieve the award you will need to accumulate\u00a0<strong>75 points<\/strong>\u00a0worth of activities\u00a0through undertaking\u00a0a combination of work experience, volunteering, campus activities\u00a0or careers-related workshops.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ul>\n<li>Attend an in-person\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/careersconnect.lancaster-university.uk\/leap\/event.html?id=18468&amp;service=Careers%20Service\"><strong>CV workshop<\/strong><\/a><\/li>\n<li>Upload your CV to\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.abintegro.com\/u\/374ad9sv\"><strong>CV360<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0and then download your score and feedback to be included\u00a0with your final submission.<\/li>\n<li>Complete your interview via Interview360.\u00a0 \u00a0You will find the link to this on your LA Moodle page.<\/li>\n<li>Take part in an in-person, one-to-one interview, with a member of the Careers team.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/careersconnect.lancaster-university.uk\/leap\/appointments.html?types=316\"><strong>Book your interview<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0here.<\/li>\n<li>Complete your Lancaster Award application form by <strong>31st October<\/strong>* of your final year of study.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>* Postgraduate taught students must complete by<strong>\u00a030th June<\/strong>\u00a0of their final year of study.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Completing the Lancaster Award is a powerful way to turn your university experiences into a clear advantage in a competitive job market.
