It was also really exciting to get an early, insider look at the industry I\u2019m working towards \u2014 a whole year ahead of schedule.<\/p>\n<p>I particularly enjoyed the research and brainstorming tasks I was given \u2014 for example, coming up with ideas for the format of a new sci-fi anthology from a fresh storytelling angle. The opportunity to work from Comma\u2019s Manchester office was also fantastic.<\/p>\n<p>In terms of skills development, time management was number one \u2014 there were countless daily tasks, with the work never finishing. The crucial thing was to find a balance.<\/p>\n<p>Curiosity was a big asset in the role and meant I got the most out of this industry crash course.
