Georgia: Architechture Assistant at Queen’s Market

 “I was really able to test my modelling and CAD skills.”

I undertook one of the faculty internships during summer vacation, working on a project to remodel the Queen’s Market in Morecambe. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and it was a good opportunity to improve on skills, collaborate with others, and to add to my CV.

The task of building a model of the Queen’s Market was challenging which meant I was really able to test my modelling and CAD skills and improve my abilities in these areas. It’s an interesting building and it was nice to study and learn from it. The process developed my 3D modelling skills in Sketch-Up, and my understanding of older buildings.

I particularly enjoyed the visits to site and exploring the Queen’s Market, and meeting and working with new people.
