Chris, an art teacher ran a series of graffiti art workshops for 60 young people from secondary schools across Glasgow for Pridelite, hosted at Glasgow City Chambers on 10th June by Glasgow City Council Education Services. Chris writes “I shared a short Gaelic LGBTQ+ glossary and encouraged them to use some Gaelic in their work as well as English. We had Pashto, French, Bulgarian among others, and the conversation naturally came onto Polari. I was absolutely delighted and bowled over, not only did many of them know what Polari was, but some even had a bit of Polari themselves, and decided to use it in their artwork! A group of 13 and 14 year olds, in 2026! I thought it was fantastic!”
