Ziaad Absar

In this weeks episode, Ele and Sayjda talk to Ziaad Absar. Ziaad is a second year medical school at Bristol University.

Ziaad talks about his journey of making the decision to go into medicine, with a wealth of options facing him, it was a difficult decision to make. He gives great advice on how to make good decisions when it comes to pursuing a career in medicine. He recalls his opportunities to shadow doctors in the UK and Bangladesh, advising that you should try to talk to people in a similar position to the field you’re interested in. Sayjda and Ele discuss the application process with Ziaad, how he managed his time and the pitfalls of misinformation online about University application processes.

The hosts discuss what University life is like for Ziaad and what he likes to do in his spare time. Keep an ear out for some pretty interesting societies that are available to join too! One that is of particular interest for Ziaad is the Galenicals of Bristol University. You can find more information about that here: https://www.galenicals.org.uk/

We get a really interesting insight into the city of Bristol too, what there is to do and how vibrant the city is.
