These grants are specifically designed to foster inclusivity within our community by supporting PhD Students, Early Career Researchers (ECRs), and Delegates with Caring Responsibilities.<\/p><p>Please note that the eligible expenses depend on your applicant category.<\/p><h4><strong>Eligible Expenses by Category<\/strong><\/h4><table style=\"width: 100%;border-collapse: collapse;border-style: solid\"><tbody><tr><td style=\"width: 50%\"><strong>Applicant Category<\/strong><\/td><td style=\"width: 50%\"><strong>Eligible Expenses<\/strong><\/td><\/tr><tr><td style=\"width: 50%\"><p><strong>PhD Students<\/strong><\/p><p><em style=\"font-family: inherit;font-size: inherit\">(Currently enrolled doctoral candidates)<\/em><\/p><\/td><td style=\"width: 50%\"><ul><li>Conference Registration Fees<\/li><li>Travel Costs (Economy\/Standard class)<\/li><li><span style=\"font-family: inherit;font-size: inherit\">Accommodation<\/span><\/li><\/ul><\/td><\/tr><tr><td style=\"width: 50%\"><p><strong>Early Career Researchers (ECRs)<\/strong><\/p><p><em style=\"font-family: inherit;font-size: inherit\">(Typically within 8 years of PhD award)<\/em><\/p><\/td><td style=\"width: 50%\"><ul><li>Travel Costs (Economy\/Standard class)<\/li><li>Accommodation<\/li><li><em style=\"font-family: inherit;font-size: inherit\">Note: Registration fees are not eligible.<\/em><\/li><\/ul><\/td><\/tr><tr><td style=\"width: 50%\"><p><strong>Delegates with Caring Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p><p><em style=\"font-family: inherit;font-size: inherit\">(Any career stage)<\/em><\/p><\/td><td style=\"width: 50%\"><ul><li>Travel Costs (including extra travel\/logistical costs incurred due to caregiving)<\/li><li>Accommodation<\/li><li><em>Note: Registration fees are not eligible.<\/em><\/li><\/ul><\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><p><strong>Eligibility Note:<\/strong> Applicants must have an accepted abstract for the conference where they appear as the <strong>corresponding author<\/strong> at the time of application.<\/p><h4><strong>Funding &amp; Reimbursement Policy<\/strong><\/h4><p>Please note the following:<\/p><ul><li>Upfront Costs: Successful applicants are expected to book their own travel and accommodation.<\/li><li>Receipts: Reimbursement is conditional upon the submission of valid, itemised receipts after the conference.<\/li><li>Economic Travel: We expect applicants to choose the most economical means of travel (e.g., standard class rail, economy airfare).<\/li><li>Award Caps: Each grant will be capped at a maximum amount (to be confirmed in the award letter). Expenses exceeding this cap will not be covered.<\/li><\/ul><h4><strong>How to Apply<\/strong><\/h4><p>To apply, please send your application to the conference email address <a href=\"mailto:ecsocms@lancaster.ac.uk\">ecsocms@lancaster.ac.uk<\/a> by <b data-path-to-node=\"5\" data-index-in-node=\"89\">18 Mar 2027<\/b>.<\/p><p>As eligibility for a financial grant requires an accepted abstract, we strongly encourage early submission of your abstract. This ensures you receive your acceptance notification in plenty of time to finalise your grant application.<\/p><p>Your application should include a motivation letter containing:<\/p><ol><li><b>Personal Details<\/b>: First name, Last name, Email, Country, Organisation, and Applicant Category (PhD Student, ECR, or Carer).<\/li><li><b>Abstract Info<\/b>: ID and Title of the accepted abstract(s) where you are the corresponding author.<\/li><li><b>Estimated Budget<\/b>: An itemised list of projected expenses (in GBP) for which you are seeking support.<\/li><li><b>Justification<\/b>: A brief explanation (max 200 words) of how your research aligns with the conference program and why this grant is necessary to facilitate your attendance.<\/li><\/ol><h4 data-path-to-node=\"9\"><b data-path-to-node=\"9\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">Important Dates<\/b><\/h4><ul data-path-to-node=\"10\"><li><p data-path-to-node=\"10,0,0\"><b data-path-to-node=\"10,0,0\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">Travel Grant Application Deadline:<\/b> 18 Mar 2027<\/p><\/li><li><p data-path-to-node=\"10,1,0\"><b data-path-to-node=\"10,1,0\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">Notification of Award Outcomes:<\/b> 01 Apr 2027<\/p><\/li><\/ul><blockquote data-path-to-node=\"11\"><p data-path-to-node=\"11,0\"><b data-path-to-node=\"11,0\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">Please Note:<\/b> We recommend that applicants wait for the notification of the grant outcome before registering for the conference.
