{"id":53,"date":"2023-04-22T19:34:21","date_gmt":"2023-04-22T19:34:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wp.lancs.ac.uk\/duckling\/?p=53"},"modified":"2023-04-22T19:34:21","modified_gmt":"2023-04-22T19:34:21","slug":"teaching-globally-an-esrc-global-challenges-funded-project","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wp.lancs.ac.uk\/duckling\/2023\/04\/22\/teaching-globally-an-esrc-global-challenges-funded-project\/","title":{"rendered":"Teaching globally &#8211; an ESRC Global Challenges funded project"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Dr. Bimali Indrarathne (University of York) and Professor Judit Kormos have recently completed an ESRC- Global Challenges funded project on<span class=\"apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">raising language teachers\u2019 awareness of dyslexia and inclusive practices in South-Asia and the West Balkans.<span class=\"apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span>The aim of the project was to design and<span class=\"apple-converted-space\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">pilot a context-specific teacher training course to enhance inclusive language teaching practices in ten different countries: Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal, the Maldives, Sri-Lanka, Pakistan, Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Kosovo and Serbia. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-US\">Eighteen experienced teacher educators worked with Dr. Indrarathne and Professor Kormos and planned a one-day workshop. Between February and April 2023 altogether 512 language teachers took part in these face-to-face workshops in South-Asia and the West Balkans.
