Hello and welcome back to pets of LAEL. This week, we have not one, not two, but four pets of the week!
This week, we have four wonderful shrimp, which belong to Senior Lecturer in Forensic Corpus Linguistics, Dr Claire Hardaker.
Claire has four shrimp at the moment and they arrived here on the 30th of April. Given their size, they’re about two months old and will be fully grown in about another two to three months.
Claire has been gradually naming them after people in the department. The red pair are fire shrimps and they’re named after Elena and Jonathan. They regularly get into debates over who has the best rock at the front of the tank. The dark blue pair are cobalt shrimps and one is now called Claire, after Claire Nance. The other one is as yet nameless (comment your name suggestions!). There were also two gold ones – sunkist shrimps – but they decided that the academic life wasn’t for them, Claire plans to get two more at some point…
The shrimp are honoured to be featured!
