Call for Submissions
The focus of a DLCC conference is to create opportunities for dialogue between academics and practitioners on the development of leadership capacity. We therefore welcome conference submissions from practitioners and academics wanting to explore care and compassion in leadership from multiple perspectives. We also welcome submissions relating to care and compassion in leadership areas such as empathy, humanity, responsibility, environment, sustainability, community, virtue and values, or to wider leadership topics such as organisations, gender, politics and business. We are particularly open to submissions from leadership development specialists in companies interested in sharing the development or possible development of caring and compassionate leaders for their organisations. We are also open to submissions that relate to developing leadership capacity in its broadest sense.
Submissions can take the form of:
- Leadership Learning and Development (LLD) research papers: Submissions that contribute to research and/or theory relating to leadership learning, and the development and education of caring and compassionate leaders. Early-career researchers and PhD candidates are particularly encouraged.
- LLD practical workshops and case studies: Hosted by the Lancaster Centre for Scholarship and Innovation in Management Education, this stream welcomes practical workshops and case studies offering insights into the current practices of leader and leadership development in organisations. LLD practitioners and learning and development professionals are particularly encouraged.
- Roundtable discussions: Conference participants and speakers are invited to propose roundtable discussion topics and panel members to explore caring and compassionate leadership in greater depth.
For each submission we ask that you email an extended abstract of 750 words (excluding references). Submissions should be emailed to the conference organisers from 1st January to 1st March 2025 at dlcc2025@lancaster.ac.uk. All submissions will be considered by the conference organisers, and decisions will be communicated by 31st March 2025.
All submissions should be in Word or PDF and include the following details on the cover page:
- Title
