Publications and Policy Design
The last few months have sped by, with CHI publications submitted by both UCL and Lancaster.
Phase 1 Social Justice lens interviews are in the final stage of transcription and are being analysed using ATLAS.ti qualitative data analysis software, with findings due to be shared with the team over the coming weeks.
Judith has continued her policy-related work (see previous blog post), and recently participated in a workshop run by the AHRC-funded Design & Policy Research Network, of which she is a member. This multi-disciplinary network of researchers and practitioners is interested in new forms of public policy design, and since early 2022, has explored relations between design and policymaking in a number of workshops (recordings of these are available on the networks’ website). Together, these classes and workshops have provided invaluable information for the work Judith is undertaking as part of the project. The Design and Policy Research Network furthermore provides opportunities for establishing multiple connections with people whose work is highly relevant to the speculative futures workshop Judith is planning to run next year. Concerning ‘futures’, Judith has also completed the design of the methodology for the analysis of Sociotechnical Imaginaries of the digital transformation and is currently selecting materials to include in that analysis. Alongside that, she has been working on a stakeholder map, which will be used to identify interviewees for WP3.
