Fancy discovering how the city’s past connects with the histories of people from around the world?

Join us for a tour of nine places in Lancaster\u2019s historic Castle Quarter and its surroundings. We\u2019ll view some of the city\u2019s most iconic sites and landmarks, and we\u2019ll consider how Lancaster\u2019s story links with histories that span from the Roman Empire to the British Empire. Along the way, we\u2019ll discuss Lancaster\u2019s involvement in the transatlantic slave trade and contributions to the Industrial Revolution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The tour will take place outside. We will meet outside the John O’Gaunt Gate of Lancaster Castle at 12.45 pm.\u00a0Please dress appropriately for the weather (e.g., wear appropriate footwear for walking outside on a potentially drizzly\u00a0morning or afternoon).
