An afternoon guided tour of nine Lancaster city centre locations with Dr Chris Donaldson and Dr Sunita Abraham.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This two-hour walking tour will be led by Dr Chris Donaldson (Lecturer in Cultural History in the Department of History at Lancaster University, and RHC Associate Staff) and Dr Sunita Abraham (Lecturer in Decolonisation, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, Lancaster University). The tour will visit nine locations in Lancaster\u2019s historic Castle Quarter and its surroundings. Together we\u2019ll view some of the city\u2019s most iconic sites and landmarks, and consider how Lancaster\u2019s story links with histories that span from the Roman Empire to the British Empire. Along the way, we\u2019ll discuss Lancaster\u2019s involvement in the transatlantic slave trade and contributions to the Industrial Revolution. We\u2019ll also consider how the look and feel of the local environment has changed over the past 1,000 years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
