In the 2024/25 academic year, CULCOM will host three talks and the CULCOM annual summer conference on 16 July 2025 (funded by the Global Advancement Fund at Lancaster University) – see CULCOM 2025.

The focus of this year’s talks is – communicating in English as a global language:

James will highlight the challenges that international speakers of English face and discuss strategies that native speakers can adopt to aid successful communication.

Sarah will share insights from coaching international speakers of English to help make English a gateway, not a barrier to success.

Oksana will discuss the Englishisation of higher education around the world, focusing on the case of Ukraine.
