Name: Elizabeth Kaye
Subject: BA Human Geography and International Relations
Year Graduated: 2015

Where are you now and what are you doing?
Having worked in a University in Mainland China for a year after graduation, I have been working for an educational charity in Hong Kong for the last two years. I help with spoken English in government secondary schools and post-secondary education centres alongside delivering various courses, workshops and summer camps in the city.
What would you like to do next?
I will be starting my MA in Social Anthropology at SOAS University of London in September 2018.
Why did you choose to study at Lancaster?
I was attracted by the interesting modules in LEC and flexibility of the courses as well as the University’s collegiate system. Upon visiting the campus I fell in love with the beautiful rural location and the ducklings, I still miss them to this day!
What was your favourite part of your degree and why?
The opportunity to undertake primary research in New York (as part of a LEC field course) and India (for my final year project).
How do you think your time at Lancaster prepared you for what you’re currently doing?
My degree gave me a great passion for exploring and learning more about the world and taught me the cultural sensitivities I need to work with people from all over the globe every day. I am really excited to use my transferable academic skills in my upcoming masters course.
What did you enjoy most about your time at Lancaster? (Including extra-curricular activities and beyond?)
I really loved being part of Lancaster University’s friendly, laid back community and made life-long friends there. I am so grateful to all the staff who were an amazing source of inspiration and encouragement throughout my degree. Outside of the classroom I loved being a member of the dance society (LUDanS) and getting to take part in shows and musicals.
